Nicole Lynn holds a Doctorate of Law (J.D.) and Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Oklahoma. Nicole is a trailblazer in that she is the President of Football Operations at Klutch Sports, a civil litigation attorney for an international law firm, and a licensed NFL Agent. What's more, she is the first and only black woman to ever represent a top three pick in the NFL Draft. That draft pick was Quinnen Williams of the New York Jets. She also represents Jalen Hurts of my Philadelphia Eagles. My understanding is also that Starz is developing a show that details her life in coordination with 50 Cent.
Those of you that have followed my and my daughters [Haelee] journey already know that she is an author and a small business owner at the tender age of 14 years old. But not only that, you would also know that Haelee aspires to be a corporate attorney and perhaps a congresswoman at some point in the future. She in effect wants to very much be an advocate and change agent in the world. With that being the case, I was and am naturally drawn to Nicole as she very much reminds me of my daughter. While that's the case let me say for the record that I am nowhere near old enough to be Nicole Lynn's Dad. Nicole is like 33 while I'm 43 so please don't start with the 👴🏾 jokes 😂.
Moving along, Nicole is also the author of Agent You: Show Up, Do the Work, and Succeed on Your Own Terms. She shares key strategies for creating a plan and executing it even when challenged by self doubt and external obstacles. I was blessed to be able to secure an autographed copy of her book a few months back. I did so with the intent of giving it to Haelee, but I had to read it first to see what the hype was about. While that was the case, I unfortunately could not and did not read it right away because I had other books on my book stack that proceeded it. I could not put it down once I started reading it however. Nicole shares within her struggles to be a wife, an older sister, maintain two full--time jobs, personal battles with anxiety, and poor facial recognition amongst other things. She goes further to share how she's always been driven to succeed and that those roots were borne from her growing up impoverished in a community that was heavily ridden with gang violence and affiliation. What I am saying here is that Agent You paints a very real picture that those of us without blue checkmarks on our social media can identify with. While that's the case, this book is by no means a memoir or a sad story. It's in fact an uplifting story that teaches readers how to push past their circumstances and internal struggles. She shares within how to find your purpose, how to curate your tribe, be your authentic self, treat yourself like a brand, and secure a seat at the table amongst other things. What I love most about Agent You is that it's very much like Haelee's first book, The Rules of a Big Boss: A book of self-love in that each chapter concludes with exercises that help readers implement the key edicts that Nicole shared in the pages that proceeded it. While Agent You is marketed specifically towards women in helping them succeed in male dominated rooms, it actually caters towards anyone and everyone. Given that sentiment, Nicole Lynn succeeded in not only securing a spot at the table in life but also at my coffee table as a man.
