As many of you know, Haelee participated in a virtual book tour yesterday afternoon. She did that while balancing her school work and normal activities/chores for the day. It’s left her a bit worn out hence I’m taking over her blog and social media platforms for the day.
We are officially one week away from Thanksgiving. As you know, it‘s supposed to be a season where we give thanks for all that’s happened to and for us. It’s supposed to be a time to get reacquainted with family and friends particularly those who we’ve lost contact with throughout the year(s). It’s also the official kickoff to the shopping season as we etch closer to Christmas. But this year is going to be like no other given mass unemployment, food insecurities, and COVID 19 within the US and beyond. Unofficial data reports that the unemployment rate is around 31,000,000 people in the US. That’s approximately 10% of the US population give or take. It makes me ponder how many people will go cold and hungry this year. It also makes me ponder upon how many people will miss out on seeing loved ones due to safety precautions and travel restrictions. It’s a tumultuous time for all of us when you think about it as we all know someone who has been affected.
She and I would help everyone if we could but we don’t have the power nor resources to do that. We can do our part to help when and where we can however. Given that sentiment she has authorized me to release the second in her series of coloring and activity sheets. Please print it out, color it, and share it with Haelee on social media. Her social media handles are provided below. Please try your best to enjoy this season of gratitude, do what you can to help someone else, and know that you are beautiful.
