Black History Month Read-A-Thon

iReadify is a Black-owned, multicultural digital library for children. They promote diverse characters and culture in every book. iReadify showcases the beauty of diversity in a safe and secure digital environment while keeping children engaged and developing their love for reading.

Literacy Nation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Their goal is to increase the awareness and distribution of books that promote inclusion and positive representation of people of color.

Readify and Literacy Nation and i have partnered together to schedule a Read-A-Thon in celebration of Black History Month. Their goal in is to challenge black authors and readers to demonstrate their commitment to increasing the number of books with positive representation of black people and their experiences.

Authors from across the globe like my good friends Virtuous Cornwall, KP Carter, Jacqueline Crann, Naomi Dunsen-White, my daughter (Haelee), and myself be reading excerpts from their wonderful books along with poetry during the course of this momentous event. It all takes place from February 12th - Feb 28th, 2023 via zoom. And best of all, it’s free to attend.

Please click here if you'd like to attend. After that grab your children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and join us and our author friends there. And last but not least, please join me in congratulating everyone especially the ladies on setting black history in real time.
