Literacy in Alamance County, A Virtual Panel

Haelee and I attended and thoroughly enjoyed this virtual panel yesterday evening. It was facilitated by Shereá D Burnett and included thought leaders from Alamance County, NC. A few things that hit home for me were that NC ranks 35th out of 50 states in literacy, that the school to prison pipeline starts in the third grade, and that approximately 70% of incarcerated individuals struggle with literacy.
