If you’ve been following our journey at The Rules of a Big Boss, then you already know that, "Real change begins when purpose meetings people."
What started as a shared vision to serve, uplift, and create opportunity, has grown into something much larger. Through initiatives like Empowerment Unleashed, we’ve seen firsthand what can happen when organizations come together to equip people with the tools they need to move forward. From workforce readiness to personal development, the impact has been real and the feedback has been even more powerful.
Now, we’re continuing that work.
The Empowerment Unleashed team will host a community empowerment event at the Durham County Main Library on May 19, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This event is about more than just information, it's about access, connection, and action.
We will focus:
Advocacy: helping participants navigate systems and speak up for themselves
Workforce Development: connecting people to real opportunities and career pathways
Personal Empowerment: building confidence, clarity, and direction
But what makes the experience different is the collaboration behind it. Haelee and I are proud to stand alongside organizations that have been deeply invested in this work to include.
At its core, this aligns with what we’ve always believed in that you don't change communities through information alone, you change them through access, relationships, and consistent support.
This belief has guided everything we’ve done, from workshops aimed at reducing barriers and supporting families in transition, to creating environments where people feel seen, heard, and equipped to take their next step.
And that’s exactly what this event represents.
