How We Celebrated National Healthy Weight Week with Line Dancing

National Healthy Weight Week is an annual event that promotes healthy living and well-being. It started in 1994 and this year marks its 30th anniversary. To join the celebration, the Beta Pi Sigma (BPS) Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. organized a line dancing session with the Rhoers.

The Rhoers are young ladies who are mentored by the members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. They are dedicated to academic excellence, leadership, fine arts, and community service. I am proud to be one of them and to share the values of SGRho.

We had a blast learning and performing various line dances, such as the Can’t Get Enough (Tamia Dance), Cupid Shuffle, Bumping Me Against the Wall Dance, and more. My dad even joined us for a while and showed us some of his moves. You can watch some of the clips by going here.

Not only did we have fun, but we also supported a good cause. We are raising funds for the March of Dimes and other Rhoer Club initiatives for the community. The March of Dimes is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies. Your donations are fully tax deductible and will make a difference in the lives of many. Please go here to donate and write "Line Dance" in the note. We appreciate your generosity and support.

By the way, what are your favorite charities and line dances? Let us know in the comments below or by writing us back.
