Achieving the Impossible.

Updated: Jan 26, 2022

Happydrip is an all inclusive platform that helps people live happier lives. They do this through a combination of their podcast, clothing, and social postings amongst other things. Happy Drip posted this image today and it hit home for me. It hit home because I’ve seen the impossible happen in my own life. A snapshot of my impossible is provided below.

My ex-wife and I have one daughter together. Most people thought it impossible but I obtained custody of her when she was 2 years old. Those people included my grandma and mom. I never believed it impossible because I know the God that I serve. I knew that my mission in life was to raise her because He told me so. He told me during conversations as I sat vigilantly by her bedside as she battled the flu. He allowed me to see the variance in between answering His call to fight for her and not answering. I said to him, “If it’s truly meant for me to raise her, I beg you to please put the resources in my life so that I can fight for her. I can’t do this alone.” Unexpected checks suddenly started showing up in the mail. I used that money to hire a family law specialist in lieu of my then divorce attorney. But not only that, my sister-in-law and her family informed me that they were willing to testify on my behalf under oath. I was amazed by her willingness to do such a thing because she and I had a strained relationship at that time.

Well here we are 12 years later and my daughter is an award winning author and a licensed small business owner. I often hear women say that they can’t raise a boy into a man and it irks me because I’ve seen it done. I’ve seen it done in my own daily life wherein I’m raising a girl into a woman. I say all of this to say that the impossible is possible where you’re tuned into the one person that does the impossible daily. Please be sure to follow Happy Drip for more inspiration and be on the lookout for Dear Daughter: A Love Story on February 14, 2022.
