Gratitude fills my heart as I look back on the incredible book launch for "Joy Comes: A Story of Fatherhood," hosted by Next Chapter Bookstore and Ben's Boyz! Their warm welcome made me feel like I was coming home. The event was a beautiful mix of reconnections and new connections, where I had the joy of reuniting with old friends and making new ones too. The room was filled with laughter, smiles, and heartfelt hugs, bringing immense joy as I signed books for all the attendees. But the magic didn't end there; during the launch, I had the chance to inspire and promise support to a lady with dreams of sharing her own story. Together, we're on a mission to spread the magic of storytelling!
During this special day, I had the pleasure of meeting Katrina Williamson, the ELA Instructional Coach and Reading Specialist at Next Generation Academy (NGA). Their mission to inspire students and nurture their unique strengths truly touched my heart. In fact, Katrina invited Haelee and me to serve as guest speakers and readers at NGA's Literacy Day. It's an opportunity that we wholeheartedly embrace. We hope to inspire a love for reading and writing in young minds, opening their world to diverse perspectives and experiences through the power of literature.
One of the most touching moments was when a little girl and her family approached me with a copy of "Dear Daughter: A Love Story." Nautica, from the bookstore, guided her to where I was, and with her radiant smile and a mix of shyness and boldness, she asked me to sign her book. Her genuine excitement and joy were truly contagious, making the whole day even more heartwarming.
A heartfelt shoutout goes to Sherricka, Catina, Nautica, and the entire staff at Ben's Boyz for going above and beyond to make this event truly special. Their kindness will forever be cherished. 🙏 Having my wife and daughter by my side made the day even more meaningful and unforgettable.
