Independent Author Network Book of the Year Contest

The Independent Author Network Book of the Year Contest is well respected book contest in the publishing industry. It’s highly recommended by the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi) and several other professional publishing organizations due to their code of ethics, transparency in judging, and commensurate prizes. The award is open to all English language small presses, mid-size independent publishers, university presses, and self-published authors.

I figured that Haelee had as good ad a chance as anyone because I believe her work.Given that sentiment, I submitted Haelee‘s children’s book on July 17, 2021 given that the grand prize winner would be awarded $6,000 in cash prizes. Having done so, I proffered that she could use the award moneys to establish her start her non-profit. I wasn’t entirely wrong in my thought processing because she voting concluded on November 13, 2021 and she was awarded the distinction of being a finalist in the “Children's/Juvenile/Young Adult Non-Fiction” Category. This is huge given that it’s her first ever children‘s book and second book overall. With that being the case, it goes without saying to say that I’m peacock proud of her.

I truly wish that we would’ve won the award but there’s always next year given that we will soon be releasing my first children’s boo, Dear Daughter: A Love Story. For those of you that don’t already know, Haelee is the editor of that book. Moving along, You can check out all of the winners and finalist by going here. Please join me in recognizing and celebrating Haelee for being a member of the winners circle.
